Donkey Safari? Perhaps you have done a safari before and want a completely different experience? If so a donkey safari might be perfect for you! This is not for everyone.
There are no showers only water and the donkeys carry all your supplies!
Drive from Arusha to Ngorongoro Empakaai Crater. Overnight on the crater rim!
Descent to the crater floor is roughly 1 hour on foot. Enjoy a walking safari and appreciate the surroundings. The ascend takes roughly 1.5 hours. After roughly 7 hours of walking you will arrive at Acacia Camp and the donkeys will have brought all the supplies there.
Today you walk down the rift valley escarpment to Lake Natron. You will pass several Maasai villages and the donkeys will be right beside you the whole time. There will be lots of opportunities to view leopards, water bucks, bushbucks and blue monkeys! Total walk time will be roughly 5 hours. Tonight you will spend the night at Natron Camp and they will have a shower on-site as well as waterfalls to enjoy!
End of Donkey Safari! There will be transportation available back to Arusha
